What is donald curry?

Donald Curry is a former professional boxer from the United States who was born on September 7, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas. He fought in the welterweight and light middleweight divisions during his career.

Curry had an impressive amateur career before turning professional in 1980. He quickly rose through the ranks and won his first world title, the WBA welterweight championship, in 1983 after defeating Jun Sok Hwang. He later added the WBC and IBF welterweight titles to his collection, becoming the undisputed welterweight champion in 1985.

Known for his excellent technical skills, knockout power, and strong defensive abilities, Curry was considered one of the best pound-for-pound boxers of his time. He successfully defended his titles multiple times before suffering a shocking upset loss to Lloyd Honeyghan in 1986.

Curry continued to fight after losing his titles but struggled with injuries and inconsistency. He retired from boxing in 1991 with a professional record of 34 wins (25 by knockout) and 6 losses. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2006 in recognition of his impressive career and accomplishments in the sport.
